Frequently Asked Questions

  • 1. What’s the best class to start with if I’ve never trained in MMA before?

If you’re brand new to MMA, don’t worry—we’ve got you covered. Our beginner boxing classes are a great starting point, as they focus on building a strong foundation in striking, movement, and overall fitness. These classes are beginner-friendly, no experience is needed, and our coaches are there to guide you every step of the way.

  • 2. Do you offer beginner-friendly options?

Yes! Our beginner Boxing class is the best group option to start with—it’s designed to teach the fundamentals in a fun, welcoming environment. If you’re looking for a more personal introduction, we also offer a trial package that includes a private lesson to give you a more customized and confidence-building start.

  • 3. What should I bring to my first class?

Wear comfortable athletic clothing and bring water. If you are trying out our Bang Muay Thai class for the first time, please wear either a white or gray t-shirt. We’ll provide any necessary gear for your trial class. If you have your own gloves, wraps, or shin guards, feel free to bring them!

  • 4. Do you provide training for adults interested in competing?

Absolutely! We offer specialized training programs for adults who want to compete in MMA, striking, or grappling. Our experienced coaches will support you with advanced classes, personalized fight camps, and one-on-one coaching to prepare you for your fights. From your first amateur bout to sanctioned competitions, we’ll help ensure you’re confident, skilled, and ready to perform at your best.

  • 5. How does the membership work? Are there contracts or drop-in options?

At Maverick MMA there are no contracts and we have zero sign-up or cancellation fees. We offer flexible membership options, including month-to-month plans and discounts for families. We also allow drop-ins for all classes — perfect for visitors or those wanting to test the waters.

  • 6. Can I train at your gym even if I don’t want to fight?

Absolutely. Many of our members train for fitness, confidence, and self-defense without ever stepping into a ring. Our programs are built to support both competitive athletes and everyday warriors.
